The many effects of Paxil

Paxil is a prescription drug approved to treat depression, general anxiety disorder, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder. Although the FDA approved Paxil in 1993, there are many side effects that users should be aware of. Studies show that nearly twenty percent of all clinical trial patients in Paxil studies have had to discontinue treatment because of significant Paxil side effects.

Paxil has had many physical and psychological problems with people taking the antidepressant. If you are a patient taking Paxil, you should discuss your full medical history with your physician prior to starting treatment. Patients with a history of kidney problems, seizures, glaucoma, or problems with similar medications might be at a greater risk of suffering serious Paxil side effects.

Some side effects of Paxil include: allergic reaction, irregular heart beat, abnormally high or low blood pressure, fever or chills, gastrointestinal problems, and other complications. Serious physical Paxil side effects can also occur when a patient overdoses on this drug. Serious side effects of Paxil can occur if the patient discontinues using the drug or modifying their treatment. Paxil is an SSRI drug, and out of all the SSRI drugs is considered the most addictive. This means that serious Paxil side effects can do injury to patients who are attempting to go off Paxil. These Paxil side effect withdrawal symptoms can last one to three months in some cases causing people to be fidgety, irritable, depressed, aggressive, and suffer from a variety of physical Paxil side effects.

Some extreme side effects of Paxil can occur due to the regular use of the drug. Paxil can sometimes worsen the symptoms that it is intended to treat these kind of effects can include: delusions, mania hallucinations, anxiety, agitation, obsessions the worsening of depressive symptoms and compulsions, as well as suicidal and violent thoughts or behaviors. One of the most dangerous Paxil side effects is a condition called akathisia. Akathisia is an unpleasant subjective sensation of "inner" restlessness that manifests itself with an inability to sit still or remain motionless, This condition can be so bad that it leads people to have suicidal and violent ideations. This Paxil side effect is often considered by experts to be a precursor to aggressive or suicidal behaviors.
